About Us
We believe musicians deserve better
Musicians Rights UK is an independent education and access initiative helping UK musicians get paid, stay organised, and understand their rights.
For Musicians
Built by people who care about music. Everything we do is designed to help working musicians.
Independent
No corporate influence. We exist solely to educate and support musicians.
Accessible
Free resources for everyone. Your background should not limit your access to information.
Our Mission
Why we exist
The music industry can be confusing to navigate. Contracts are complex, royalty statements are hard to understand, and it's often unclear where to turn for help. Many musicians lose out simply because they don't know their rights.
Musicians Rights UK exists to change that. We believe every musician deserves access to clear, practical information about their rights—regardless of their background, experience, or budget.
Our goal is simple: help UK musicians make more informed decisions, keep better records, and know where to go when they need professional support.

Transparency
What we do & don't do
We're clear about our role and our boundaries.
- Provide plain-English guides on contracts, royalties, copyright, and more
- Offer practical tools like invoice and split sheet templates
- Maintain a directory of music lawyers, accountants, and specialists
- Share industry updates and news that affects working musicians
- Connect musicians with resources and support
- Educate young creators about their rights from the start
- We do not provide legal, tax, or financial advice
- We do not represent musicians in disputes or negotiations
- We do not act as a trade union or collecting society
- We do not endorse or guarantee any professional in our directory
- We do not replace the need for qualified professional advice
